The TAARKS inline fuel pulse damper fits in the feed or return line, before the fuel pressure regulator, for rails with no spare port for a direct-mount damper. It uses a genuine Nissan R35 GT-R damper in a CNC machined housing, with a 1/8 NPT port to add a fuel pressure gauge or sensor at the same point.
Each time the injectors open and close, and with every stroke of the fuel pump, a small pressure pulse travels through the fuel system. On some setups these pulses cause knocking or booming from hard lines, uneven fuel delivery between injectors, and lean spots or a stumble that is hard to tune out – often around 3000-5000 rpm and more common with large aftermarket injectors. The damper’s spring-loaded diaphragm lets the system volume change slightly, which absorbs the pulses.
A damper will not fix a fuel system that is undersized or a tune that is wrong, and if fuel pressure is already steady with no line noise it will not change anything. Most engines need one damper, mounted as close to the fuel rail as practical.
What’s Included
– 1x CNC machined inline damper housing
– 1x Genuine Nissan R35 GT-R fuel pulse damper
– 1x Stainless steel circlip
– Mounting bolts, washers and nyloc nuts
– 1x 1/8 NPT plug
Sold Separately
– Fuel pressure regulators: Turbosmart FPR8, Turbosmart Kompact
– Fuel pressure sensor: Syltech MSPP 10 bar – 1/8 NPT
Specifications
– Part number: 407-028-P
– Fuel ports: AN8 ORB (-8 O-ring boss), inline
– Auxiliary port: 1/8 NPT for a pressure gauge or sensor, plug supplied
– Damper: genuine Nissan R35 GT-R fuel pulse damper
– Housing: CNC machined, held with a stainless steel circlip
– Application: universal
Fitting Notes
Fit it in the feed line close to the fuel rail, or in the return line, before the fuel pressure regulator. Exact position along the feed line is not critical. Use the supplied 1/8 NPT plug if no gauge or sensor is fitted.
Other versions: direct-mount AN6 ORB and AN8 ORB dampers for rails with a spare port.
Wiring and Setup
Fuel pressure pulses are too fast to see on a mechanical gauge. To check them, log a fuel pressure sensor at a high rate in the ECU.
